Scarcity & Scale.

Bitcoin changes how we save. AI changes what we can build.

I’m Mitch Kochman, a father of two in Brooklyn. After eleven years at IBM, I spent the last four working in Bitcoin, drawn to the idea that better money could change how people think about saving and their future.

One question sits underneath that work: how do we know when we have enough? When the purchasing power of our savings keeps changing, the target can feel like it’s always moving. To me, monetary debasement sits at the heart of that uncertainty. I believe Bitcoin offers a better savings technology, one that can give people more confidence in the future and more room to choose how they spend their lives.

AI gives us a way to catch up by expanding what one person can accomplish. We are being handed fire. As the cost of building the life we want keeps rising, we finally have a tool that expands our ability to do something about it.

That opportunity also depends on the physical world and the capital behind it. I’ll write about investing and the companies building the infrastructure, from power generation to computing capacity. I’m interested in how those businesses work, where the economics hold up and who captures the value.

Scarcity & Scale is where I bring those questions together, exploring better ways to save and what we can build with the tools now in our hands.

Views are my own. Nothing here is investment advice.
